While most people were tearing down the old structures to make way for the modern building, the owner of this restaurant decided to restore and convert his ancestral house into a restaurant. The medieval aesthetics of this century-old house is well preserved while adding in modern convenience such as restrooms, an alfresco and glass window to lighten up the room with natural light. The ambiance inside resembles a heritage museum. The rustic theme with antique displays gives tourists an authentic traditional dining experience in a farmhouse.
The restaurant specializes in traditional Bhutanese cuisine and its specialty is amplified by serving their food in the traditional wooden plate. Tourists should definitely try the salted butter tea served in the wooden cup with roasted rice.
