Located in the picturesque Gangtey valley, the monastery has the most beautiful architecture that overlooks the village below.
The Goemba is built on a ridge overlooking the valley. It is believed that in the 15th century, Terton Pema Lingpa prophesied that a Goemba would be built on this site and that his teaching would spread from here. The extensive complex consists of the central Goemba, quarters for monks, a small guest house and meditation centers.
