I am planning a road trip to Bhutan from India. Can anyone share me relevant information on making this trip success?
How to make a road trip a successful one?
Dear Rishabh,
If you wish to travel to Bhutan by road. There are two major point of entry from the southern border.
1. Phuntsholing town in the south west
2. Samdrup Jongkhar in the south east
Phuntsholing town links to the Indian plain of West Bengal and the town is roughly 170 kilometers east of the National Airport of Bagdogra. Samdrup Jongkhar likewise links to the Indian state of Assam and is 150 kilometers away from Guwahati International Airport.
Please note that if you are driving your own car, you will need to process for an additional document from the Royal Safety and Transport Authority of Bhutan. They will issue an authorization letter which allows you to enter your car into the country. For more details refer https://www.bookmytour.bt/travel-guide/visas-immigration
