Jakar Village Lodge today announced that it has received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.
To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

Jakar village lodge (JVL) was established in 1997, by the managing proprietor Dasho Gasey Lhendup.It is located just below the jakar dzong , commanding the most majestic view of the Chokor valley of Bumthang . The lodge is just a kilometer away from the from Chamkhar town,and five minutes walk from the Dzong. The lodge is being catagorized as a four star lodge by the Tourism Council Of Bhutan.

Not only it is a four star lodge but Jakar Village Lodge (JVL) has been slotted at rank #21 amoung the "Best Bed & Breakfast" establishment in Asia and ranked #4 in Bhutan in 2009 by trivago top hotel, largest European travel community. It has also been awarded the Certificate of Excelence in 2011 and 2013 by Trip Advisor.
